Key Responsibilities
- Research and Analysis: Young professionals will be responsible for staying up to date on agricultural developments both domestically and internationally. They will process information from reputable sources like official websites, journals, and international organizations to assess opportunities for collaboration in the agricultural sector.
- International Cooperation: The role involves assisting with the preparation and analysis of various draft declarations, documents, and notes from international bodies such as G20 and BRICS. Professionals will provide valuable inputs for senior officials to aid in decision-making processes.
- Event Management and Coordination: Young professionals will help coordinate logistics for international events, including seminars, workshops, and conferences. This will involve organizing meetings, ensuring smooth communication between departments, and assisting with administrative tasks related to event planning.
- Drafting and Documentation: YPs will assist in preparing reports, background materials, and notes for Indian delegations participating in bilateral and multilateral conferences. They will also contribute to drafting proposals, receipts, and other documents as required.
- Bilateral and Multilateral Engagement: Working closely with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and other ministries, YPs will support preparations for bilateral meetings and multilateral conferences, ensuring all necessary materials and documentation are ready for review and discussion.
Terms and Conditions
- Age Limit: Candidates should not exceed 35 years of age on the last date for application submission.
- Remuneration: The selected candidates will receive a consolidated salary of Rs. 60,000 per month. After one year, this amount may be reviewed based on the candidate’s performance and the recommendations of a selection committee. Performance-based increments may also apply, ranging from 5% for routine work to 10% for exceptional contributions.
- Place of Posting: The role is based at Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi.
- Contract Period: The engagement will initially be for one year, with the possibility of extension for an additional six months or one year based on performance.
- Leave and Benefits: Young professionals are entitled to 8 days of leave annually, on a pro-rata basis. Unused leave cannot be carried over to the following year. Additional leave without remuneration may be granted under special circumstances. However, maternity leave will be provided according to the Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Act of 2017 for female YPs.
- Working Hours: The typical working hours will be from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with a half-hour lunch break. However, in cases of urgent work, candidates may be required to work late or during weekends and holidays, without additional remuneration.
- No TA/DA: There will be no TA/DA for joining the position or at the end of the contract. However, if the YP is required to travel for work purposes, they will be reimbursed according to the Central Government’s guidelines.
- Other Conditions: The engagement is strictly contract-based, and the young professionals will not be entitled to benefits like pension, medical allowances, or housing. They are expected to adhere to government regulations, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate professionalism in their duties.
Selection Procedure
Applications will be scrutinized and shortlisted by a Screening Committee composed of senior officials from DA&FW. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview, and the final selection will be made based on merit. A panel of selected candidates will be created, and those selected will be offered appointments as per availability.
