The Kirloskar Institute of Management (KIM) is excited to announce the fourth edition of the KIRIT 5.0 competition, an inter-collegiate case-analysis challenge designed to test the critical thinking and problem-solving skills of students. This year, in collaboration with several Kirloskar Group companies, including Kirloskar Industries Limited (KIL), Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited (KOEL), and Kirloskar Pneumatic Company Limited (KPCL), the competition promises to provide a platform for young talents to propose innovative solutions to real-world managerial problems faced by large organizations.

About the Competition

KIRIT 5.0 aims to give young minds a chance to demonstrate their ability to analyze complex business cases and propose actionable solutions. The competition is open to all undergraduate students across various disciplines like B.Tech/BE, BBA, B.Com, B.A., B.Sc., and BCA. Teams will be required to tackle real-time business problems and submit solutions that reflect deep insights and creative strategies.

Round 1: Online AssessmentRegistered teams will take a 30-minute online assessment testing aptitude and knowledge of the Kirloskar Group. Team scores will be averaged, and the highest-scoring teams will proceed to the next round.Jan 14, 2025
Round 2: Case SubmissionShortlisted teams will receive a case study to analyze and submit solutions in an MS Word document (max. 2,500 words) and MS PowerPoint presentation (max. 10 slides). This round will evaluate problem-solving skills and creativity.Jan 16-26, 2025
Round 3: On-Ground Semi-FinalThe top 12 teams will present their case solutions at KIM’s Harihar campus. The best 8 teams will proceed to the grand finale.Feb 19, 2025
Round 4: On-Ground FinaleThe final 8 teams will present their solutions to senior Kirloskar Group leaders at KIM’s Pune campus. Travel, accommodation, and food will be provided for all finalists.Feb 21, 2025

Eligibility & Team Rules

Participation is free, and the competition is open to full-time undergraduate students from across India. Each team can consist of three members, and while teams with at least one female member will be given preference, this is not mandatory. Importantly, all team members must be from the same institute, though they can come from different years or departments. Additionally, participants are not allowed to be part of more than one team.

Prizes & Recognition

The winners of KIRIT 5.0 will receive a cash prize of ₹1,00,000 and Pre-Placement Interview (PPI) opportunities, offering a direct path to potential employment with Kirloskar Group companies. The runner-up team will win ₹75,000, with participation certificates awarded to all involved.

KIRIT 5.0 offers not only an opportunity to showcase managerial talent but also a chance to network with top industry leaders, making it an unmissable experience for aspiring business professionals.
