The Legend of Dev Diwali
The story behind Dev Diwali is rooted in Hindu mythology. Tripurasura, a powerful demon, spread fear and chaos across the three realms. In response to the prayers of the gods, Lord Shiva defeated Tripurasura, restoring peace to the universe. This victory led the gods to descend to the earthly realm, specifically to the sacred Ganges River, to honor Lord Shiva. The festival of Dev Diwali is a commemoration of this divine victory.
